The Nose Knows

Barbra whatshername went to France and gave a concert to the French people. They rewarded her with a medal of the Legion of Honor; I saw this little show when she was so proudly showing it off after a big hug by the French Prez. I don’t think he wanted to let go and I bet he was having impure thoughts!

Well I know he was ’cause he said that she was the America that they love! And she said he reminded her of John Kennedy and Bill Clinton “who appreciate art and recognize the importance of the arts,” Think about that while I go toss my cookies!

It isn’t hard to imagine why she picked Clinton. Babs had the hots for Bubba and if Hillary hadn’t interferred, that was a done deal! Done! Art appreciation. Yeah, that’s first on the list when I think of these two! Not deceitful womanizers–never! HA Alot of other stuff, too, but we have all heard it before! But hey, if it means Barbra is welcomed to stay in France–ALLLRIGHT! Someone pack her bags…please!

China

Posted 12:15 pm June 28th, 2007 by bama2

Just wondering if China is trying to knock us off without firing a shot? First, it was our pets, now they seem to be going after us!

Federal health officials said Thursday that they were detaining three types of Chinese fish — catfish, basa and dace — as well as shrimp and eel after repeated testing has turned up contamination with drugs unapproved in the United States for use in farmed seafood.

Beyond the fish, federal regulators have warned consumers in recent weeks about lead paint in toy trains, defective tires, and toothpaste made with diethylene glycol, a toxic ingredient more commonly found in antifreeze. All the products were imported from China

I don’t know about you, but I don’t want antifreeze in my toothpaste! And the toy train is the very popular, Thomas the engine. (wooden ones, I think) They also wanted India to farm tigers with them to use their pelts and body parts! They stupidly think if they consume part of the tiger, they will posess it’s strength! And their way of doing away with rabies was to beat to death people’s pets without warning.

Wally World–are you paying attention?!

Okay she’s out of jail and the media is knocking itself out with constant blabblings about the poor little rich skank. It’s sickening. I vow to mute or change the channel any time I see her face or hear her name mentioned! I only have one question for the people who are determined to keep us updated on her every move, every thought (is that an oxy moron?)–WHO THE HELL CARES??!!

Share the Beach

Posted 8:41 am June 27th, 2007 by bama2

I’m dedicating this post to Basil who’s at the beach (lucky dog!) with his wife this week! It’s something I’d be interested in being involved with–if I was at the beach! I wonder if anyone would notice a tent on the beach?

“Share the Beach” is a sea turtle conservation program, the result of the collaborative efforts in Alabama of the Fish and Wildlife Service’s Daphne Ecological Services Field Office and Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge; Gulf State Park; and numerous volunteers along the Alabama Gulf coast. Our mission is to monitor, protect, and minimize impacts to sea turtles and their hatchlings as part of a larger effort to enhance successful nesting along the Alabama coast. These goals are achieved through a variety of approaches, always combining biology with education so that the benefits of the activities extend beyond the actual relocation, hatching, or excavation of a nest.

Read the rest:

Basil’s post about the beach at PC w/a short video of the waves lapping on the beach! (He’s just trifflin’ wih us!)

Sorry I mangled this post! I tried over and over to get it right and just gave up! I could really use a tech class! It’s about a good program the people along the gulf coast are doing to help the sea turtles, who nest from May to Oct, and come ashore to lay eggs on the beach. It’s a good thing!

ENOUGH!!

I’ve been watching the “news” for over an hour and I am sick to death of hearing about and seeing Paris’ every word and move! Oh, I was already sick of hearing about her before the jail problem, now I am beyond that! Now I want to puke at the sight of her face! People who chase after her should be ashamed of themselves! She is not news worthy. NOT NEWS WORTHY! Not worth the every thirty minutes updates! NOT–can you hear us news people?! She is a vapid (insert your word of choice here).

For the love of all that is good in the world…SHUT UP ABOUT THAT TWIT!!!!!

Mona

Posted 4:15 pm June 22nd, 2007 by bama2

If you’ve been to the Birminngham Zoo since 1955, you’ve most likely seen Mona, the Asian elephant. She was almost 60 years old but after having problems this week, the decision was made to put her to sleep yesterday.

She had been found lying on her side Monday, unable to get up, so a crane was brought in to lift her and she seemed better until she was found on her side again yesterday.

Her companion, Susie, died in 2005, That means the zoo has no elephants on exhibit, now. No news on whether there will be a new exhibit in the future.

Reminds me, I haven’t been to the zoo in a long time!

“THE MANSIONS OF THE LORD”
Words by Randall Wallace

To fallen soldiers let us sing
where no rockets fly nor bullets wing
Our broken brothers let us bring
to the mansions of the Lord

No more bleeding no more fight
No prayers pleading through the night
just divine embrace, eternal light
in the mansions of the Lord

Where no mothers cry and no children weep
We will stand and guard tho the angels sleep
All through the ages safely keep the mansions of the Lord

Marcus Luttrell is the lone survivor of that day, also called “The One”. He survived because an Afghan took him into his home and refused to give him up to the Taliban.

This is a description of how the day started out:

Four US Navy SEALS departed one clear night in early July, 2005 for the mountainous Afghanistan–Pakistan border for a reconnaissance mission. Their task was to document the activity of an al Qaeda leader rumored to have a small army in a Taliban stronghold. Five days later, only one of those Navy SEALS made it out alive.

This is the story of the only survivor of Operation Redwing, fire team leader Marcus Luttrell, and the extraordinary firefight that led to the largest loss of life in American Navy SEAL history. His teammates fought valiantly beside him until he was the only one left alive, blasted by an RPG into a place where his pursuers could not find him. Over the next four days, terribly injured and presumed dead, Luttrell crawled for miles through the mountains and was taken in by sympathetic villagers who risked their lives to keep him safe from surrounding Taliban warriors.

I want to read this book.

If you do a search for Marcus Luttrell, lots of info comes up and Blackfive also has info on “The One”.

Raise your hand if you think this is wrong, wrong, WRONG! A 38 yr old, Wis. substitute teacher (middle school) has been fired and is under investigation for having sex with a 13 yr old boy! His father tracked him to the teacher’s house in the middle of the night and found them together, after he had stolen his mother’s car! Before this happened, he had been dating the woman’s 13 yr old daughter!!

This is wrong. on. so. many. levels!!
